Founded by Miguel “M.i.G.” Martinez and Jamie Sisley, Aster Creative Co. is an Emmy Award-winning production company that focuses on discovering the most authentic, thoughtful, and visually arresting way to tell stories. MiG and Jamie cultivated this approach when they first collaborated together on the feature documentary, Farewell Ferris Wheel. The film received an Emmy nomination for best documentary, an Imagen award nomination for positive portrayal of Latinos in entertainment, and was broadcast nationally on PBS and Netflix.
The duo's decade-long creative partnership has now organically grown into a full-service creative production company. Clients include:TheSmithsonian, National Institutes of Health, HBO, Events DC, Marriott, Sesame Street,Ana de Armas,Sony Music, Juan Luis Guerra, Jane Fonda, Luke Wessman, PBS, ATO Records, World Central Kitchen, The Line Hotel, Visual AIDS Project, Film 45, Jesus Navarro, and Beatriz Luengo.
In addition to his work at Aster, Jamie recently wrote and directed Stay Awake, a narrative feature film that premiered at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival, where it won the AG Kino Auteur Award and was Honorable Mention for the Crystal Bear. Starring Chrissy Metz (“This Is Us”), Wyatt Oleff (“IT”, Netflix’s “I Am Not Okay With This”), and Fin Argus (HBO’s “Queer As Folk”), the film is a personal exploration to the roller coaster ride that families go on while trying to help their loved ones battle addiction. Jamie earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia University.
